Image Expand
Extend a photo into a new frame.
More scene beyond the original frame
Extend outward, not upward in resolution
The preset treats the source as a central visual anchor and asks the model to generate continuation beyond its edges. It tries to match perspective, light, texture and photographic style. Choose an available output aspect ratio; this is different from enlarging the same picture with Image Upscaler.
The source is an anchor, not a locked pixel layer
The instruction asks not to crop, stretch or repaint the existing picture, but AI can still alter source details or create a visible seam. Review the boundaries and original subject; this is not a pixel-perfect lossless canvas operation.
Aspect ratio is not exact print sizing
The selected model controls which ratios and output pixel sizes are available. This page does not set exact dimensions or DPI and does not make the original sharper. For a different edit inside the frame, use Image Editor.
Use an image you have the rights to edit and inspect the joins after generation.
Questions
- Is this the same as upscaling?
- No. Expand adds AI-generated surroundings outside the old frame; Image Upscaler adds resolution to the existing image. You may use both tools in sequence.
- Can I choose exact pixels or 300 DPI?
- No. You can choose from the aspect ratios offered by the model, but exact pixels, DPI and print specifications are not guaranteed.
- Will every pixel of my original remain unchanged?
- No guarantee. The prompt asks the AI to preserve the original, yet it may alter details, especially near newly generated edges.
